question:i pulled the battery off and disconnected the ac for a while. after that i plugged in the ac and put the battery in the slot and the charging indicator  turned white ....so i booted into diagnosis test and the test showed everything was okay ......then i booted into windows 8.1 and the battery said it was 100% charged ....i unpulled the ac cord ,laptop turns off without any warning,what is going on? 

answer: please find another adapter to check ,if the second adapter working with the same issue, it may be the battery problem ; cool the battery for one day and turn off the laptop for one day;  plug in the battery and open the laptop with original adapter to charge a whole night to check ,if showing the same wrong ,please replace the battery :

MSI GE72 series laptop wont charge unless its below 95% which for prolong battery life ,MSI GE72 2QD-018XCN 6-cell 4730mAh (51Wh) laptop batteries

MSI GE72 series battery is stuck at 90% and says, (90% available(plugged in not charging)). Why has it stopped charging and how can I get it to 100%?

My ge62 did the same thing. I unplugged it and used it until the battery was under 70% then plugged it in and it charged all the way. I believe there is something that does not allow it to charge if it is already above a certain percent to help with battery life.

Yep, same thing with my GE62 laptop battery it was stuck on 93%. MSI Faq stated that it wont charge unless its below 95%. I think its may be a configurable feature?

I have a SONY VPCSA23GW notebook. The battery stopped working long time ago,showing"plug in not charging", and I finally decided to purchase a new battery.

The new battery is fine, but it is not recognized by the laptop. It will not charge either. I did some search and found that I need a cd or driver to make it work, unless I purchase a Genuine SONY VGP-BPSC24 laptop batteries .
