Acer Aspire S7 notebook is an ultraportable star with an innovative clip-on battery to extend battery run times ;The battery lasted for 1 h 49 min  at full load and Wi-Fi enabled,It was even 11 h 4 min during low load which uses the maximum energy saving settings (disabled wireless modules, minimum brightness).

The Acer Aspire S7 ultrabook had to be reconnected to the mains after 4 h 7 min when we surfed on the Internet with screen brightness close to 150 cd/m² using Wi-Fi. These are all average rates for compact ultrabooks. However, their batteries usually have lower capacities than the Aspire S7 by at least 10 Wh.

Gaming Laptops with the Longest Battery Life MSI GT70 VS MSI GT72

The MSI GT70 has sat on the throne for a long time and is now surpassed by the MSI GT72;

The large battery (87 Wh) allows the MSI GT70 2PE to achieve decent run times. The maximum run time was measured using the Battery Eater Reader’s test. The brightness is set to minimum and all wireless modules are turned off. The notebook lasts more than six and a half hours. In the opposite scenario, we used the Classic test from Battery Eater to measure the minimum run time, with CPU and GPU at full load and maximum brightness. The laptop lasts 71 minutes.
Our "surfing via WLAN" shows a more realistic value. In this test, the brightness is set to 150 cd/m² and all wireless modules are turned off (aside from the WLAN). The test runs a browser script, which loads a new page every 40 seconds. In this case, the GT70 shows what it can achieve with a run time of six and a half hours. This value is quite close to the max run time, which might be explained by the fact that the lowest brightness setting is still relatively high. The other competitors can achieve a maximum three and a half hours in this test. On our test model, we could play a Blu-ray for four hours. If the gaming notebook were not so big, we could have talked about the impact of such good run times on its mobility.

MSI GT72 battery life
If you wish to use the GT72 for simple tasks while on battery, we recommend switching over to the HD Graphics 5600 IGP with the GPU button, as otherwise the 17-inch model will shut down after 3 hours and 45 minutes.In Intel mode, the predecessor achieves up to 6.5 hours. Suboptimal: the 9-cell battery (87 Wh, 7,800 mAh) is not accessible even after taking off the maintenance flap.On Idle mode, without WLAN and min brightness ,the battery could last 3 hours 45 mins, On Load  with maximum brightness ,it last for 1 hours and 20 mins;
